We are looking forward to an exciting year in 2015-2016 for 5th and 6th grades. We are now completely departmentalized and feel that this is really offering our students an advantage for upcoming years in Jr. High and High School as well as preparing them well for state and national assessments. 5th and 6th grade Science is being taught by Kris Keener, Social Studies is being taught by Jami Schaffer, Reading is being taught by Val Wadhams, Kaitlin Luikens is teaching all Math and Jenny Bohl is teaching Language Arts. We will be working hard to cover the necessary state standards and improving on student organizational skills. Besides these core subjects students are instructed in keyboarding, music, pe, library skills and attend guidance counseling classes.
Upcoming events for 5th grade will be Project WET in October and Veteran's Day Program in November. We will also be having an elementary Science Fair in the spring semester, as well as an end of the year field trip to Agate Fossil Beds.
